PINEWOOD DERBY

This year we have ____ cubs enrolled in Pack No. ___ !   In the interest of completing this thrilling evening at a reasonable hour, a TIMESTOPPER (computer stopwatch) has been installed on our Pack's track.   This will drastically reduce the number of races necessary to determine the winners.

Each den will have a first, second and third place winner.   Each of these winners will receive a medal. The fastest nine cars will qualify for the semifinals.   The fastest three cars will then compete in the finals.

Heats are run in multi-car groups, with the cars in a group racing against each other in several consecutive races.   This gives each car the opportunity to run on more than just one of the track lanes.   The average of the times for each car is its official time.
